Overview
Essaouira is a relaxed port town on the Atlantic coast, with a UNESCO-listed medina of whitewashed walls and blue shutters, and a fishing harbour next to old ramparts.
On the way we stop at a women's argan oil cooperative, where you can see how the oil is made by hand. In Essaouira you are free to walk the ramparts, watch the boats at the port, visit the galleries and craft shops or have grilled fish by the sea.

Itinerary

We pick you up at your hotel or riad in the morning and drive west across the plains into argan country. We stop at a cooperative where local women show how argan oil is made by hand.

We arrive in Essaouira in late morning. Walk the Skala ramparts, watch the fishermen at the port and explore the galleries and craft shops of the medina. Lunch at the fish stalls by the harbour is a good idea. A local guide can be added on request to tell you about the history of the town.
